He Said/She Said Saturday

This is a new meme - the idea of this is to ask your significant other's opinion on the question of the week and link up both of your opinions the following week!

Each Saturday both Heather and I will post the following week's question and our own answers (with mine being the correct one of course) on both of our blogs - we'll also open up a linky so that you can add your own posts! If you and your spouse both blog you can put up your answers on each blog, or if you are the only prolific writer in your family you can ask your SO their opinion and write their answer down for them (word for word of course).  You are also welcome to hook up a He Said/He Said or a She Said/She Said - whatever works for you!

The questions to discuss this week are:

What is the best gift you ever gave your SO/ and received from your SO?  The worst?

Next week's questions:

How did you and your SO meet?
(Follow up question - what was your first date?)

Here's my answer to this week's question:

Last month I got Heather and I a night away at Wild Dunes Resort without children.  We went to a restaurant she really wanted to try and was able to get a full night's sleep without helpers.  Thought that was pretty romantic.

As for me. I a simple guy with even easier needs. I need very little to be happy.  The best gift I have ever received however; I have to say is my great kids.  They are the center of my world and I don't think I would be nearly as happy without them in my world.  She also lets me work at times.  She knows how important it is to me to be good at what I do and gives me the time to do so.

As for bad interesting gifts, Heather has this thing for buying me clothes that attempts to stretch my current repertoire.  Sometimes she tends to go off kilter a little there.  Simple guy, no need for stripes, shapes or any other type of design.  My weekend style is probably a little too much like Sheldon from Big Bang Theory for her liking at times.  I will say she has 'gotten with the program' lately and was great at Christmas with getting me a couple of new International Coke T-shirts for my collection (though she added a Stewie one that I still do not know what she was thinking about when purchasing).

Here's Heather's answers:

It's so much easier to remember the worst... a rice cooker... and while it is useful, it was bought because Wayne wanted it and given to me as a Christmas present...
The most thoughtful gift he ever gave me was a beautiful Pandora necklace with my family's initials on it - it has an H, W, R, L and an E, plus a Bunny and a Bear on it... Bunny is his nickname for me and Bear is his nickname...

As for gifts I've given to Wayne... that's harder because he's one of the hardest people in the world to buy for - at least to give significant gifts to, his favorite things have usually been t-shirts with sayings - and this Christmas I sent away for two new 'international' Coke shirts for his collection... other than that I think the gift he's gotten the most enjoyment out of was an Aerogarden (which has graced his office and been the source of jokes as he's grown herb(s)...
